Dear Moms Club Members,

The heat is on moms! We’ve been having some hot and steamy weather, and it looks like that trend will continue. Personally it’s not my favorite kind of weather, but then again, that’s what summer is for! Summer is also for going to camp, going to the beach or pool, taking some hikes, playing outside a little longer in the evening, and ice cream, of course! Hopefully you are enjoying some of these hot weather activities with your family.

The new board is well on its way to getting our year going. We are excited about a new fundraiser, and have many ideas for the club. We are always looking for ideas for fundraisers, groups to donate to, activities for child or adult outings, parks to meet at, or anything at all. If you have an idea you would like to pass along, feel free to contact a board member or coordinator to let them know what you think. If you’re not sure who to send it to, you can send it to me and I will pass it along. That is part of what makes Moms Club so strong, our shared vision for our community of moms.

Did you know that our Book Club is meeting this month, on Tuesday the 9th? Book Club meets about every six weeks, and if you are looking for something different to try, this might be it. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the book – many times there is someone present who has not read it (myself included). Book Club is a fun evening out for some Mom time, some conversation, some discussion about the book, and per-haps some dessert. It might be the inspiration for you to pick up the next book and join us at the end of September. After that, we will vote in November for the next year’s book list. Join us if you can! There are many great outings planned this month! Many moms are hosting play-groups, which are always fun. In addition, there are trips to the Waterford Central School playground, Moreau State Park, the Children’s Museum in Saratoga. The Mom’s Night Out to The Local sounds like a great time as well. I hope to see you around this month!

As I am writing this, there is a load of laundry waiting to be hung, and my children are waking up. After that it will be showers, breakfast and the drive to camp. Then errands, errands, and more errands. After that, I should weed my garden and... you know – it’s all in a mom’s day. I hope you have a good one!
